こんにちは。
今日はカフェに行ってレストランで働いた日です!
カフェでは二人でゆっくりこれからについて話せたのでよかったです。
A Day at the Cafe and Restaurant
Today’s plan was to go to a cafe with a friend from Korea and then work at the restaurant.
At the cafe, I ordered a fruit smoothie.
I love eating fruits, so I thought I would enjoy the smoothie.
However, I realized I prefer eating fruits to drinking them.
I’d like to know what to order in cafes since I don’t drink coffee due to the caffeine.
Besides smoothies, I could order cookies or other food items, but I still find it challenging to decide.
Despite this, I love the cafe atmosphere, but figuring out what to order remains a problem for me.
Conversations About Life and Work Challenges
We talked about many things, including our future, her farm work, and her new job.
She had a lot of complaints, especially about her job.
She works on a farm and lives with people she doesn’t get along with due to different lifestyles.
Her biggest issue is financial; farm work pays less than her living costs.
She works there only to qualify for a second working holiday visa.
It’s tough for everyone to manage in Australia. I’ve already quit farm work myself.
Relaxing at the Library
After saying goodbye to her, I went to the library to write my diary.
I laid down on a chair in front of the library, enjoying the relaxed atmosphere.
It felt very Australian 🙂
Working at the Restaurant
Then, I went to work at the restaurant.
I don’t particularly want to work there because I only get 2 or 3 hours a day, which isn’t enough to make much money.
However, since there are no Japanese coworkers, I speak only English, which helps me learn the language.
This is a positive aspect for me.
I plan to keep this job until my lifestyle is more settled.
